Sensory paths are the perfect way for children to develop their gross motor skills at home 🥳 Did you know that research has shown that 5-20 minute movement breaks can positively impact learning 📚 By making your own sensory path, you are supporting your child’s gross motor skills such as balance, coordination, motor planning and provide proprioceptive input 👍🏼 Tag us in your own sensory paths as we would love to see what you have created 💚🐸 @greenwaywetherillpark #sensorypath #occupationaltherapy #grossmotor

✨Getting back into the swing of things✨ Vestibular input is one of the core elements of sensory integration therapy. Our bodies’ vestibular system provides the main input about movement🕺🏼, balance🏄🏻‍♀️, spatial awareness🤸🏼‍♀️ and positioning🧘🏽‍♂️. It helps us prepare our posture, maintain our balance, and regulate our emotions and behaviour 🐸 Swinging is a fun way to provide vestibular input, however it is important that each child’s sensory needs are being monitored as some children crave movement, while others may be sensitive to movement. Speak to one of our therapists if you have any questions regarding your child’s sensory needs 🐸 #paediatricoccupationaltherapy #sensoryneeds #vestibular #swing
